Corrections
How to report an error, what happens next, and a log of substantive corrections to our guides.
Accuracy matters most on a site like this, because readers use our numbers to budget, buy and build. If you believe something on the site is wrong, out of date or unclear, please tell us.
How to report an error
Email us using the address on our contact page with:
- the page address (URL),
- the sentence, number or table you think is wrong,
- what you believe is correct, and a source if you have one (a spec sheet, standard, agency page or study).
We read every report. Where the report is correct, we update the page, and for substantive errors we add an entry to the log below.
What counts as a substantive correction
A change that could have affected a reader's decision: a wrong number, unit, standard, safety statement, cost range or calculation. Spelling, formatting and clarity edits are not logged, though they may update the page's date when the change is meaningful.
Corrections log
No substantive corrections have been logged yet. Entries will appear here with the date, the page and a short description of what changed.
